JOB SUMMARY Grouse Gravity Coaster Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our newest attraction, the Grouse Gravity Coaster. Supporting the Mountain Coaster Attendants in delivering outstanding and memorable experiences for our customers on their ride, the Supervisors are experts on the mountain and ready to answer any questions, jumping in and helping where they can. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Grouse Gravity Coaster and associated department areas Completing opening and closing duties of the department and coordinating day-to-day operations of the Coaster Attendant team Handling cash and ensuring accounting procedures are followed including daily cash outs and float reconciliation Operate in a safe and professional manner when required, while engaging with guests and providing an informative experience about Grouse Mountain and its surroundings Ensuring the safety of all guests through completion of daily inspections, group management, and sound decision making Monitoring coaster activities for risk management, as well as assessing and intervening when situations require, according to company policies Recruiting, training, scheduling and developing up to 30 individuals for daily operations of the department activities, including new hire training, refresher training and rescue training Completing internal payroll, data entry, performance reviews, daily logs, and other company documentation according to outlined standards Managing the guest experience and ensuring service standards are met or exceeded to achieve a high Net Promoter Score Achieving and maintaining outstanding customer relations with internal and external guests, including responding to customer comments and concerns while displaying a Guest Obsessed attitude at all times Creating, implementing, and revising training and procedures, including manuals, presentations, and memos Promoting a positive work environment and culture by leading by example and maintaining strong and supportive relationships with all staff Ensuring staff communication sites are updated regularly with company communication, revised policies/procedures, guest satisfaction scores and operational information Managing PPE inventory, including detailed testing and inspection in accordance with company and manufacturer standards for coaster carts and track Completing detailed inspections of department areas on a regular basis and assisting with seasonal activity maintenance as required Engaging with the management team, demonstrating proactive, positive, and effective communication to facilitate and support teamwork and cooperation Setting and contributing to department goals for increasing sales and improving profits, including managing payroll and adjusting to reflect business needs Other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position provides direct supervision to the Grouse Gravity Coaster Attendants. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES Excellent leadership, communication, customer service and organizational skills through a strong work ethic, innovative thinking, and a positive attitude Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English in a respectful and enthusiastic manner by email, over the telephone and in person First Aid qualifications considered an asset Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate duties amongst a team, with a focus on safety Excellent work ethic and attitude, with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, challenging environment Successful completion of secondary school required, with some post-secondary education preferred Must be able to work at heights and understand the requirements of mandatory safety at heights Must be able to lift 40 lbs Strong Microsoft Office skills, and experience with Siriusware system an asset, including cash handling and cash-out procedures Available for five days per week and to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays WORKING CONDITIONS Grouse Gravity Coaster Supervisors perform some of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
