Superintendent - Grocery Retrofits - Must be open to Nights or Out of Town work Superintendent role with BC''s leading General Contractor for grocery store retrofits. This role requires a willingness to work out of town and/or to complete night work (with salary top ups when this work arises). If you are open to this type of role, you won''t find a company that will treat you better in this space. Company: This company is the leader in their field. The specialize in grocery projects that include retrofits and the occasional new construction project. The will also take retail and food services projects as well as gyms and office renovations. The operate as a General Contractor, Design-Builder or a Construction Manager depending on the project needs. They focus on the needs of the client. They secure repeat work with clients due to their success in meeting the projects schedule and budgets, while acting like a true partner on the build. Duties: You will lead your projects as the Superintendent, overseeing the schedule and trades management. Plan the project to accommodate the project needs (night work, occupied spaces, electrical shutdowns, etc) Communicate clearly with the Project Manager to ensure a smooth project, especially required during night shifts when communication can be more difficult Ensure the project stays within budget Requirements: Experience running TIs (ideally grocery projects) and/or commercial new builds as a Site Superintendent Extra consideration given to people with experience on projects in occupied/operating spaces Background in carpentry and a willingness to pick up the tools on smaller jobs Experienced in dealing directly with Clientsand strong communication skills Willing to work nights and on out of town projects (possibly open to hiring someone who can only do one of these) Access to a truck or other appropriate transportation with a valid driver''s license A track record of solid tenure in your career Compensation: Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 (with top ups when working out of town [$90/day per diem] and nights [$1000/month] and an extra $200/month if dong both) Vehicle allowance of $450 (for wear and tear), insurance reimbursed (up to $250/month) and gas is reimbursed Provided phone, laptop and iPad RRSP match of 5% after 1 year.
