Faculty/Department Student Affairs Unit SA - Student Success Centre Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary Assist students in one-on-one tutorial sessions in mathematics and/or statistics. Statistics is particularly required, as is a background in economics. Aid students with problem solving strategies. Provide support with use of principles and formulas. Identify and record common problem areas for the purpose of developing support services and reference materials. Develop effective mentoring approaches through attending training sessions, shadowing other tutors, and participating in meetings. Zoom or in person. Must be willing to run a Math workshop during the term. Position Requirements The preferred background of the applicant is in mathematics, statistics, economics, accounting, engineering, or the natural sciences. Graduate student and senior undergraduate students will be considered. Successful applicants will be mentored in instruction of mathematics and/or statistics.
