Responsibilities Leading the execution of debtor files, while providing exceptional client service to a wide variety of sector specific requirements Assisting the firm in the development and growth of its existing insolvency practice in the your community and surrounding areas Responding promptly to initial contact from debtors by telephone, email, etc. Conducting initial interviews and meetings with debtors, including doing the sign up Timely follow up on potential debtors Input debtor documentation and workbook into Ascend and prepare sign up documents Review files for comparison and appropriateness Ensure full compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and directives in the delivery of service Building positive working relationships with debtors, referral sources, the Office of Superintendent (OSB) and all other stakeholders Assess clients budget plans and financial goals Deliver an excellent and empathetic experience for the clients Communicating with clients, creditors and other third parties Monitor the status and progress of debt relief options and filings About Doane Grant Thornton If youre a bit like us, youre driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. Read our colleagues stories at www.discoveryourpurple.ca Qualifications Ability to speak French is an asset College diploma in Business Administration, Paralegal or a related field preferred Exceptional and demonstrated interpersonal skills to relate with clients and liaise with team members High computer literacy including the ability to learn new programs and previous experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently Demonstrated experience with verbal and written communication skills to compose various documents and speak effectively with clients, staff, and other third parties in-person, on the phone or in a virtual meeting environment Benefits Profit sharing, Flex days, RRSP contributions, Firmwide holiday closure, Wellness benefits, Concierge-like benefits, Work from anywhere in Canada in the summer for 4 weeks, and more!
