Job Title: Mainframe Assembler Developer Location: Toronto Experience Required: 68 Years Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Assembler Developer with strong production support capabilities and deep expertise in Mainframe Assembler (MVS), JCL, and enterprise batch processing . The ideal candidate will independently analyze, design, develop, and troubleshoot Mainframe-based applications while supporting mission-critical production environments . Key Responsibilities Technical Responsibilities Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve Mainframe programming issues. Design, develop, modify, and maintain Assembler (MVS) programs and JCL to support application and project requirements. Perform production support activities including troubleshooting, defect resolution, performance optimization, and incident handling. Support system enhancements, product upgrades, and new development initiatives. Production & Operational Support Provide on-call support on a rotational basis for critical applications. Execute production tasks to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service delivery. Track milestones, operational metrics, and issue progress; recommend solutions and elevate when necessary. Independently manage non-routine situations and resolve technical challenges with minimal oversight. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate application impacts, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on coding experience in Mainframe Assembler (MVS) . Expertise in JCL design and maintenance . Experience supporting and maintaining Mainframe production applications . Ability to work independently on complex and non-routine issues. Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills . Proven data-driven decision-making capabilities. Typically 57 years of relevant IT experience plus a technology-related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
