As a Geotechnical Engineering Student (Coop) at EXP, youll gain practical exposure to geotechnical and environmental fieldwork while supporting a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. This is a great role for students studying civil engineering, environmental engineering, geoscience, or related fields looking to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge to realworld projects. What a day at EXP has in store for you Conduct soil compaction testing using a soil density gauge Perform concrete field tests (slump, air content) and cast concrete test cylinders Observe asphalt placement and conduct sampling and compaction testing Fieldwork related to environmental and geotechnical investigations, including soil, groundwater, and environmental sampling Environmental monitoring and data collection in accordance with project requirements and regulations Assisting with site assessments, inspections, and remediation activities Recording and organizing field data and observations Supporting report preparation, data analysis, and documentation Maintaining field equipment and following health and safety procedures Collaborating with project teams and supporting day-to-day project needs What your experience looks like Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or related program Interest in construction, geotechnical testing, or environmental fieldwork Ability to problemsolve and think proactively on site Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings/specifications (training provided) Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with contractors and team members Solid report writing and attention to detail Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites Physically able to lift/carry equipment such as soil density gauges and concrete cylinders What We Offer Hands on experience on real geo environmental engineering projects Mentorship and support from experienced professionals Exposure to field and office based work A supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to build technical skills and industry experience This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization. The hourly range for this role is between $21 $24. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
