About the opportunity The Dayforce Product Development team is looking for an experienced Software Developer to create the industrys next generation Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. As a senior developer on our Workforce Management team, you will be working on our ground-breaking solution that helps companies increase their efficiencies through tracking time and attendance and intelligent scheduling of their employees. Your impact will be evident through your effective participation in the entire lifecycle of our software including design, analysis, prototyping, development, testing, deployment, and support of our products. You will work closely and collaborate with product owners, design experts, implementation partners, and Dayforce personnel to envision and deliver functionality. You will be conducting code reviews of peer work and mentoring other developers. What you''''ll get to do Solid knowledge of object-oriented principles (SOLID) and experience applying them in practice using C#/.NET (5+ years), including async/await and LINQ. Experience with modern .NET (e.g., .NET 6/7/8) and the ability to modernize .NET Framework code where needed. Working knowledge of modern web technologies including: HTML5, CSS3, SVG, Web APIs, JSON, and REST (gRPC/GraphQLplus). Strong SQL skills (SQL Server) including indexing, query tuning, and transactions. Practical experience with cloud and delivery: Docker containers and CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps); experience deploying to a major cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP). Testing and quality focus: unit/integration/E2E tests (xUnit/NUnit/Jest/Playwright/Cypress) and code reviews. Security fundamentals: OWASP basics, authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC), and handling of PII. AIaccelerated engineering: demonstrated use of AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codeium, Sourcegraph Cody, etc.) to increase velocity and qualitysuch as generating unit tests, assisting refactors, drafting PR summaries/runbooks, or composing queries/migrations. Be prepared to discuss measurable impact (cycle time, PR throughput, defect rate, coverage, or MTTR). Skills and experience we value Acumen for analyzing business needs and identifying optimal solutions; experience in enterprise software development. Handson experience applying design patterns, writing automated tests, and optimizing performance (front and back end). Working experience with ASP.NET Core/MVC and API design. Good understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and thread synchronization. Experience with eventdriven systems and messaging (e.g., Kafka, Azure Service Bus) and caching (e.g., Redis). Observability in production (structured logging, metrics, tracing with OpenTelemetry/AppInsights/Prometheus). Familiarity with feature flags/experimentation (e.g., LaunchDarkly) and trunkbased development. Accessibility (WCAG2.1AA) and internationalization/localization awareness. Workforce Management/HCM domain knowledge (time capture, complex pay rules, compliance, timezone/DST edge cases). Experience integrating LLM capabilities into products (e.g., retrieval/RAG, prompt design, evaluation/guardrails) is a plus. Disciplined selfstarter, capable of working independently as well as in close collaboration within an agile development team. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
