We manufacture internal and external gears, including spur, helical, bevel and worm. United Gear has set itself apart by providing the highest quality gearbox refurbishment services supporting Western Canada''s mining, pulp and paper services, port services, and wind power industries. Our business expansion has increased the volume in our rebuild department, and we are looking for a detailed and hardworking individual to assist with shop support, focusing on component cleaning after gearbox teardown, handling, and shipping. Key Responsibilities: Shipping and receiving, including operating a forklift and overhead cranes. Local pick ups and deliveries. Cleaning and maintaining parts to ensure their optimal cleanliness. Keeping the shop area clean and organized. Shop floor coordination, to keep materials and equipment where they are needed. Clean machinery and vehicles. Cut, prepare, and deburr material (using bandsaw and zipcut). Painting of components. Assist shop staff and skilled tradespeople as required. Packaging and crating equipment and components safely. Qualifications: Class 5 driver''s license is required. Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane is considered an asset. Experience with basic hand and power tools is required. Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset. Candidates with mechanical hobbies or work experience will be given preference. Skills & Abilities: Ability to work in a high-quality environment and have a high attention to detail. Resourceful and able to work with limited supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment. Dependable and consistent in attendance, quality, and productivity. Working Conditions: General manufacturing shop environment specializing in industrial gearbox refurbishment. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. High-quality environment requiring high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. Overtime work as required. Standing for extended periods of time.
