The Construction Foreman supports the site team by coordinating and supervising labour, concrete, and exterior quality control activities throughout different phases of construction. This is a developmental role designed to build technical and leadership capability. While not a formal management position, the Construction Foreman is expected to demonstrate leadership qualities by organizing work, guiding crews when required, and ensuring tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Responsibilities will shift depending on the construction stage (e.g., excavation/SOG, structure, envelope, finishes). About The Role Scheduling & Coordination Support the Superintendent team in reviewing schedules and developing micro-schedules for assigned tasks. Coordinate and schedule inspections (concrete, geotechnical, envelope, municipal) and trade activities. Track tasks and site flow using Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and other construction software. Phase-Specific Responsibilities Responsibilities vary depending on the phase of construction and may include: Excavation & SOG Preparation Manage dewatering, sump placement, gravel deliveries, and subgrade inspections. Coordinate with geotechnical inspectors and ensure compaction testing requirements are met. Structural Concrete Oversee rebar and formwork inspections. Book and coordinate concrete testing, review mix designs, and track quantities and delivery schedules. Inspect slabs and suspended elements for plumb, level, square, and compliance with drawings. Labour & Site Operations Direct labour crews in site preparation, garbage disposal, trade protection, and general housekeeping. Oversee deliveries, work with traffic control, and operate equipment when required. Ensure tracking and accountability for tools, rentals, and equipment. Envelope & Quality Control Inspect exterior and envelope work (membranes, rain screen, windows, siding, metal panels, below-grade waterproofing). Record and coordinate timely resolution of deficiencies before work progresses. Support mock-ups, colour reviews, and envelope inspections. Site & Safety Promote and enforce Marcon''s safety policies, ensuring safe practices and PPE use at all times. Identify, assess, and manage site-level risks, ensuring appropriate controls are in place during all phases of construction. Support the Construction Safety Officer (CSO) in maintaining a strong safety culture. Certified in First Aid and able to assume site accountability for safety during low and medium-risk activities during Superintendent absences. Maintain site cleanliness, order, and general organization. Administration Maintain accurate logs for concrete, gravel, inspections, and deficiencies. Complete purchase orders and rental tracking in coordination with the Superintendent. Keep the site office organized and professional. About You Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Residential construction experience across multiple phases of work. Ability to coordinate tasks and provide direction to crews, while also working alongside them. Strong organizational skills; able to adapt to changing site priorities. Working knowledge of concrete, labour supervision, and exterior quality control. Proficient with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook). Basic understanding of construction math. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Requirements Minimum 5 years of relevant site experience. Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs; willing to work long hours or occasional Saturdays as needed. Tickets/Certifications (assets): Bobcat, forklift, Fall Protection, Safety Supervisor, Manlift, Valid Driver''s License.
