Position Overview Torus Talent is supporting a well established engineering consultancy in their search for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in piping and oil and gas projects. This position is based in Vancouver and will focus on supporting brownfield and greenfield capital projects across large scale energy operations in Western Canada. This role is well suited to an engineer who has hands on experience with piping systems, mechanical design and stress analysis, and who is comfortable working on complex operating facility upgrades and expansions. The successful candidate will play a key role supporting ongoing brownfield modifications as well as new project development within active operating facilities. Further Responsibilities Include the Following Develop mechanical and piping design solutions for oil and gas facilities Support brownfield and greenfield capital projects across operating energy assets Perform or support piping stress analysis and related mechanical assessments Prepare and review mechanical design documentation, specifications and engineering deliverables Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project execution Provide technical input during project planning, design development and engineering reviews Support field execution through occasional site visits and technical troubleshooting Contribute to engineering studies, design reviews and constructability considerations Provide mentorship or technical guidance to junior engineers when required Support project leads and potentially act in a mechanical lead capacity on smaller projects Ideal Candidate Requirements Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant mechanical or piping engineering experience Strong background in oil and gas project environments Demonstrated experience supporting brownfield and or greenfield capital projects Experience performing or supporting piping stress analysis considered a strong asset Experience working on operating facilities and brownfield modifications preferred Ability to contribute technically as a senior engineer with the capability to step into a lead role Strong understanding of piping systems, mechanical equipment and plant infrastructure Comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering teams Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites Registered as a P.Eng. in British Columbia or eligible for registration preferred Why This Firm Opportunity to work on technically complex projects supporting major energy operations in Western Canada Exposure to a mix of brownfield facility upgrades and new capital projects Collaborative engineering environment with strong technical leadership Competitive compensation package Long term project pipeline within the Canadian energy sector Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume in word format to this posting or email .
