OverviewVancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the Nuclear Medicine team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!The salary range for this position is CAD $36.69/Hr. - CAD $45.81/Hr.ResponsibilitiesPerform duties within Nuclear Medicine, including radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and special cell labelling for lower mainland hospitals.Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for shipping.Label cells using sterile techniques.Instruct manufacturing and cell labelling techniques to staff.Operate nuclear medicine laboratory equipment.Perform routine quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.Monitor radioactive storage areas using appropriate detection devices and dispose of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.Education & ExperienceCertification with the CAMRT (Nuclear Medicine).Two (2) years' recent, related experience in radioisotope imaging and radiopharmacy dispensing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of theory and practice of radiopharmacy dispensing and radiation safety practices.Aseptic techniques and safe work procedures with nuclear medicine laboratory equipment.Good manufacturing practices (GMP) knowledge.Knowledge of radiopharmacy equipment and computer applications, Bio Rx applications, and CNSC, WCB, and TDG regulations.Knowledge of research processes and methodology; ability to perform radioisotope laboratory examinations in compliance with departmental standards.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to operate related equipment and work independently or with others; ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others; ability to instruct personnel and students; and ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care; ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety; ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in diverse settings.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.Ability to operate a computerized patient care/radiopharmacy information system.Additional InformationThe hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
