This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering THPs enterprise digital and AI roadmap, evolving our data and analytics foundation, and is accountable for measurable improvements in patient outcomes, health equity, and system performance through digital and AI-enabled redesign across THP and the community we serve. Role Overview The Chief AI and Digital Planning Officer is a newly envisioned leadership position designed to help redefine and reinvent services at THP with our partners in the community. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Performance and Planning and Chief Information & Analytics Officer, and working in close partnership with the Chief Health Information Officer, this role will be instrumental in collaborating with operational leaders and community partners to leverage advanced AI and digital solutions to transform clinical practice, operational performance, and population health for the next generation of care. As a strategic partner, you will work within a highly matrixed environmentincluding with the EVP of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Executive, Chief of Staff, and Chief Scientistto co-create innovative solutions with clinicians, enabling teams and community partners. You will lead the THP Solutions team with the Medical Director of THP Solutions a unique innovation team focused on practical solutions for health care using advanced digital tools. You will also serve as the Digital Lead in the IDEA (Innovation, Design, Experience & AI) Lab, ensuring that AI-driven and digital innovations (e.g. digital front door) move seamlessly from pilot projects into sustainable care delivery models. You will be accountable for guiding enterprise-wide prioritization, sequencing, and real-world value realization of AI and digital initiatives, with transparent metrics tied to patient outcomes, health equity, clinician experience, and system performance and effectiveness. As a pivotal member of THPs AI governance committee, you will champion the responsible, safe, and equitable integration of AI throughout the hospital, advancing transformative change in partnership with those delivering care. As THP embarks on its landmark Healthworks infrastructure renewal project, you will shape the digital and analytics roadmap and spearhead business development efforts, working side-by-side with operational leaders and community providers to extend THPs digital assets and create a truly integrated, future-ready healthcare system. In close partnership with THPs Institute for Better Health (IBH), this role will also ensure that AI and digital innovations are grounded in rigorous evidence and aligned with THPs learning health systems (Learning Health System (LHS) Institute for Better Health) approach. Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight of Digital & Analytics Roadmap: Provide vision and leadership in the development and execution of THPs digital and analytics plan. Ensure alignment between research priorities, operational transformation goals, and digital infrastructure investments to maximize system-level impact and global leadership. Accountable for establishing a structured pipeline from research validation to operational scale, ensuring that solutions developed or evaluated with the highest level of rigour and allow for sustainable, enterprise-wide practice change, in addition to global leadership in this area. Champion the translation of emerging technologies into scalable, operationally viable solutions. Oversee the operations of the THP Solutions team with the Medical Director of THP Solutions and provide strategic digital leadership within the IDEA Lab, ensuring AIpowered innovations move beyond pilots into sustained enterprise adoption, with clear governance, adoption metrics, and outcome measurement frameworks. Benefits Realization and Return on Investment (ROI) modelling: Responsible for clearly measuring and articulating ROI from new investments and digital and AI tools deployment, in alignment with the IBH. Enterprise AI Architecture and AI Platform: Define THPs enterprise AI architecture, including standards for model lifecycle management, integration patterns, APIs, and deployment across clinical and corporate environments. Provide architectural direction for generative AI platforms, including LLM orchestration, prompt management, evaluation frameworks, and controlled pathways for promotion from experimentation to production. Define standards for AI observability, including performance, bias, and reliability monitoring post-deployment. Data Foundations, Interoperability & Clinical Integration: In close collaboration with THPs Data Governance Committee, establish enterprise standards for AI data quality, metadata management, and dataset readiness to support trusted AI and analytics. Drive interoperability strategy for AI-enabled workflows, including HL7/FHIR, DICOM, and integration engine patterns. Ensure AI solutions are deeply embedded into clinical and community-based workflows (e.g., HRIS, PACS, HIS/EMR, etc.). Security, Privacy & Responsible AI: Partner with THPs Cyber Defense and Privacy leadership in the creation of securebydesign AI controls and identity access controls. Define technical safeguards for PHI protection, data residency, retention, and model training restrictions. Contribute to AI governance overseeing technical risk assessments and policies. Business Development Leadership: Shape and expand THPs digital assets through strategic business planning and commercialization. Foster partnerships with external providers and internal stakeholders to build a more integrated and connected healthcare system focused on population health and prevention. Cultivate a highperforming, resilient AI and Digital Planning and Strategic Design and Innovation team. Promote a culture of mentorship, professional growth, and collaborative excellence to ensure sustained innovation and advancement of THPs vision and strategic plan (Plan to 2030). Education & Experience Masters degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 10-15+ years of experience in AI, digital strategy, or leadership roles within healthcare or technology industries. Experience building and scaling AIenabled digital operations across large health systems or similarly complex organizations, including governance, workflow redesign, performance measurement and value realization. Demonstrated experience executing or leading a team responsible for designing, deploying, and operating AI platforms, including ML Ops/LLM Ops, secure integration with enterprise systems, and clinicalgrade reliability. Experience managing a portfolio of initiatives and multiple funding streams, vendor partnerships and terms with political astuteness and sound judgement. Experience with Epic or similar Health Information Systems is a strong asset.
