Join our team Our executive team is seeking a Chief Information Officer who will play a criticalrole in shaping the organization''''s technology strategy, digital transformationand IT operations. What to expect in this role Reporting to the CEO, the CIO is responsible for all aspects of the organizationsinformation technology systems. This position will provide vision and leadershipfor developing and implementing information technology initiatives that alignwith the business and strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with the Executive team, the CIO will provide executiveleadership, direction and oversight across all divisions within the InformationTechnology Register Services (ITRS) cluster in the planning, management,security and strategic development of information systems and informationtechnology. To create policies and processes to advance and facilitate thesecure and successful delivery of elections.Leads the development of the digital and IT strategies to advancetechnological application and meet organizational short and long-termobjectives in line with the Strategic Plan.Directs the development and implementation of strategic information, includingmanaging of relationships and agreements with various levels of governmentand partners in the private sector. Strategic Leadership: Provides executive leadership and direction in the design anddevelopment of an integrated, secure technological infrastructure,supporting Ontarios legislative requirements under all relevant Acts.Reflect key policies and guidelines to ensure key stakeholders and staffhave required access to digital information. Develops and executes integrated digital and IT strategies and solutions inalignment with the vision, mission and objectives. Overseeing thedetermination and implementation of sound tactical plans, within theInformation Technology Digital Services (ITDS) division. Collaborates with the executive team in maximizing the efficient and effectiveintegration of e-technology into processes. Ensures the effective management of a range of critical vendorrelationships and contracts related to IT services, hardware and software. Takes a lead in managing RFP submissions and selecting vendors for arange of work, including large, complex contracts. Information Security: Builds strong relationships with other governmental organizations andkey vendors responsible for monitoring and responding to cyber-securitythreats and attacks in maintaining appropriate cyberthreat plans tosafeguard confidential data. Maintains and evolves robust cybersecurity measures and controls,including responding to security threats and breaches. Develops and maintains security policies, protocols, and incidentresponse plans as part of the Emergency Response Plan and BusinessContinuity Plans. Data Management: Implement data governance and compliance for data management practicesto ensure data accuracy, integrity, and privacy. Technology Innovation Assessment, Acquisition: Ensures the ITDS division stays abreast of emerging technologiesand trends in technology, including cybersecurity and AI. Identifies opportunities to enhance processes through technologyinnovations and determines risks in evaluating digital options. Budget and Resource Management (capital planning andinvestment): Develops and manages the cluster budget, including the acquisitionof vendor supported services and products, ensuring high qualitydelivery and cost-effective resource utilization. Team Leadership and Management: Effectively leads and mentors the ITRS cluster fostering a culture ofcollaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recruits for excellence at all levels, monitors resources to ensureoperational veracity and support on major projects. Ensuring the right skillsets to fill existing needs that positions us for effective successionplanning. Change Management: Leads and effectively oversees important change management initiatives as itpertains to implementing new IT and digital strategies, and new technologicalsystems and upgrades. What you need to qualify Qualifications: Bachelor''''s or Master''''s degree in Information Technology, ComputerScience, or a related field. Certification in cybersecurity or IT management (e.g CISSP, CISM, PMP). Experience within the Public sector is preferrable. Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role. Proven leadership in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of information technology, systems and datamanagement. Proven experience in Cyber Security. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Cloud technologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong project management and budgeting skills. Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal laws and regulations relatedto data security. The successful candidate will be required to work in-office 5 days perweek.
