You will own day-to-day collections activity across a book of SME customers in Canada - engaging borrowers early, resolving missed payments quickly, and driving cures back to current through clear communication and practical repayment solutions. The role is fast-paced, results-driven, and requires strong judgment, resilience, and precision. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a portfolio of active accounts and follow up on missed or late payments via phone, email, and WhatsApp. Identify early risk signals and take action to prevent accounts rolling into deeper arrears. Negotiate and document repayment arrangements and hardship plans in line with internal policy. Work closely with underwriting, operations, and customer success to resolve disputes, payment issues, and account queries. Maintain accurate notes, outcomes, and status updates in the CRM/LMS, ensuring full audit trail and data quality. Track daily/weekly performance (contacts, promises, cash collected, cure rates) and escalate higher-risk cases promptly. Support ongoing improvements by logging recurring issues and recommending process fixes to reduce delinquency. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Excellent communication skills - confident, clear, and professional on the phone. Strong negotiation skills with a firm but fair approach. Highly organised and able to manage volume with tight timelines and targets. Comfortable working with data, payment records, and lending systems, with high attention to detail. Resilient, proactive, and accountable.. Previous collections experience in financial services or lending (SME, MCA, term loans, or similar) is essential.
