Salary: Up to $110K Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage a wide range of litigation documents, including pleadings, motion materials, affidavits of documents, discovery materials, arbitration, trial, and appeal records. Attend examinations for discovery and cross-examinations, take detailed notes, and manage undertakings, refusals, and transcript reviews. Track and coordinate complex, high-value litigation files, including scheduling team meetings, monitoring deadlines, issuing pleadings, and maintaining counsel and case records. Prepare and manage Freedom of Information requests and enforcement documentation, including garnishments, writs, and judgment debtor examinations. Draft and review factums, appeal materials, compendiums, books of authority, citations, cost outlines, and bills of costs. Prepare materials for Small Claims Court matters and ensure compliance with all Notices to Profession and court deadlines. Correspond with counsel, clients, court staff, and Commercial List offices on complex insolvency and restructuring matters. Prepare Commercial List materials, model orders, motion records, receivership and monitor appointment documents, and extensive fee affidavits. Review and assist with restructuring documentation, including notices of motion, affidavits, plans of compromise and arrangement, and SISP materials. Conduct and summarize corporate, bankruptcy, Bank Act, and PPSA searches, including registrations, renewals, and reporting. Prepare and manage Proof of Claim documentation and tracking spreadsheets. Maintain electronic case bundles in Case Centre in accordance with court requirements. Coordinate e-Discovery collections with third-party providers, prepare discovery plans, conduct targeted searches, redact confidential material, and prepare affidavits of documents. Qualifications: Law Clerk diploma or Legal Assistant diploma from an accredited institution. 5+ years of experience as a Litigation Law Clerk or Legal Assistant, with exposure to complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters. Strong knowledge of Ontario court procedures, Commercial List practices, and Notices to Profession. Proven experience preparing motion, trial, appeal, and enforcement materials in high-value or complex files. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities, with advanced proficiency in e-Discovery platforms, Case Centre, and Microsoft Office.
