About the Allied Health Team As part of the Allied Services Department, Registered Dietitians are valued members of our Allied Services Department. Registered Dietitians assist patients with their nutritional needs, performing assessments and making nutritional recommendations. They work in collaboration with SLPs, wound and skin, food services, and other interdisciplinary team members to address and enhance the nutritional needs of the patient. Employment Details Employment Status: CasualReporting Relationship: Manager, Allied Health ServicesHourly Rate: $41.68 - $53.28Location: Humber River Health Wilson Site with some crosscoverage at the Reactivation Care CentreHours of work: Available to work rotating shifts (Monday to Friday) with availability to work weekends and statutory holidaysUnion: OPSEU 590Position Responsibilities: This positions primary assignment is to support an acute patient population within the Medicine and Surgical Programs. Coverage may also include working in various units and programs including Critical Care, Stroke, Nephrology inpatient, Cardiology, Geriatrics, Oncology, Respiratory, and the Reactivation Care Centres (Finch and Church locations). Providing appropriate assessment and treatment of referred patients/clients within an acute inpatient setting. Prioritizing patient caseload to meet the needs of referred patients. Recording client assessment, progress and discharge status. Recording timely workload measurement data. Works as a member of the health care team. Flexibility in caseload and program assignment. Able to manage patient caseload in a busy acute care setting. Clinical supervision of clinical nutrition students/interns. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters Degree in Food and Nutrition. Current registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. Completion of an internship program and a member (or eligibility to become a member) of the Dietitians of Canada. 1-2 years clinical experience is preferred. Experience in TPN an asset. Excellent knowledge of clinical nutrition principles and evidencebased nutrition practice. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to encourage, support and motivate patients and/or their families from a multicultural community. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team. Ability to travel for crosssite coverage may be required. Access to a vehicle is an asset.
