POSITION SUMMARY:The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the New Flyer Quality System is fully understood, consistently executed, and continuously maintained across the Winnipeg facility.As a key member of the plant leadership team, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to the Quality Assurance department while supporting overall plant performance. The Quality Manager plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, first-time quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a dynamic two-shift manufacturing environment.WHY JOIN US:Be a part of a team leading the worlds electrification of mass mobilityCompetitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibilityPaid holidays and vacationRegistered pension plan with generous company match Passionate about creating a better product, a better workplace, and a better worldInclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members.On-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024)Advancement opportunities within our family of companiesWe are proudly named one of Manitobas Top 25 employers.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Provide strategic leadership for the execution and evolution of New Flyer's Quality Management System across the Winnipeg facilityLead, develop, and mentor a multi-level Quality Assurance organization, including succession planning and leadership capability developmentEstablish clear performance expectations through effective use of objectives, metrics, and accountability frameworksDrive a culture of quality ownership across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and ManufacturingLead plant-wide First-Time Quality strategy focused on defect prevention, risk mitigation, and systemic root-cause eliminationAnalyze quality performance data to identify trends, prioritize risk, and inform executive decision-makingPartner with plant leadership to integrate quality objectives into operational planning and executionOversee customer quality performance, including property inspections, post-delivery concerns, and corrective action governanceDirect Supplier Quality strategy including First Article Inspections, non-conforming material processes, and supplier corrective actionsEnsure effective Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new product introductions and build transitionsMaintain governance of ISO 9001 certification, audit readiness, and New Flyer Management System complianceDevelop and manage the Quality operating budget, aligning resources to highest-impact quality and business risksEnsure product inspections are appropriately resourced, standardized, and consistently executed across inspection teamsProvide quality leadership and resources to support shipment readiness and resolution of delivery-related quality issuesWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Minimum 6 years of Quality Assurance experience within a manufacturing environment supporting complex, engineered solutions, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory roleExperience leading quality functions within automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace, rail, or other complex engineered manufacturing environments, particularly those operating in low-volume, high-mix or configuration-driven production models, is strongly preferredPost-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experienceExperience applying PPAPs, Quality Control Plans, and Production Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) within a manufacturing environmentExperience working within formal quality management systems; ISO experience strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to lead structured, data-driven problem solving and root cause analysisProven ability to lead teams, drive cultural change, build accountability, and effectively influence cross-functional partners across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and ProductionStrong communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with proficiency in MS Office applicationsAbility to operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environmentsUp to 10% travel; must be eligible to travel to Canada or the U.S.OUR WHY:We exist to move people.
