Production Manager The Production Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of designated production departments. This role ensures the efficient execution of production tasks and supports the development of Supervisors within these areas through coaching, guidance, and support. The Production Manager oversees all aspects of production processes including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, continuous improvement, ensuring operational excellence through leadership, handson approach, and commitment to highquality standards. The successful candidates responsibilities will include: Workplace Safety Oversight & Compliance Conduct regular safety audits and Gemba Walks. Promote active engagement in safe work practices. Foster accountability by upholding established standards and practices. Ensure attendance of team(s) in required safety training courses. Participate in incident reporting, investigations and follow up actions. Quality Excellence & Compliance Maintain compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects. Address quality issues promptly. Ensure timely responses to audit findings, opportunities for improvement (OFIs), and corrective actions. Supervise, mentor, and develop supervisors and production teams. Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and alignment on goals. Promote clear communication across all organizational levels. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals and address issues. Foster a culture of teamwork and employee development. Production Efficiency Develop and implement production schedules. Identify and implement process improvements, using lean manufacturing principles where applicable. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, cycle times, and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement. Production Planning & Coordination Develop and implement production plans and strategies. Coordinate production activities and personnel. Analyze production performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. Manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to maximize production output while controlling costs. Champion continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes, increase productivity, and maintain high quality. Prepare and present regular production reports. The ideal candidate for this position will have: Post secondary education in a related field preferred. Proven experience in production management, with a track record of successfully leading production teams and meeting production targets. Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles. Excellent organizational, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills. Effective leadership and teambuilding abilities, with a focus on motivating and developing staff. Proficiency in using production management software and tools. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
