We are accepting applications for a Biomedical Engineering Technologist Student CoOp. You will assist with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electronic medical equipment, following established procedures and documenting your work. This coop gives you the chance to work on a variety of medical devices and systems, from infusion pumps and patient monitors to ventilators and Xray equipment. You will gain handson experience across diverse clinical settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams within Providence Health Care, Fraser Health Authority, Provincial Health Services Authority, and Vancouver Coastal Health. Qualifications Enrollment in a relevant Biomedical Engineering program such as a Biomedical Engineering Technology diploma. Interest in a handson, medicaldevice maintenancefocused coop and a desire to pursue a career as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist. Your duties will include Installation and commissioning of medical devices. Clinical workflow integration and implementation. Demand or corrective service/repairs. Preventive and scheduled maintenance. Cybersecurity. Software/Hardware upgrades. Decommissioning and disposal. General activities and experiences Picking up pending work orders and equipment. Completing inspections on vital sign monitors, infusion pumps, bedside patient monitors, etc. Participating in training and inservice. Cleaning and organizing project and storage spaces. Orientation and training on the provincial CMMS database. Interaction with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, etc. Exposure to LMBME business processes: alerts management, incident investigations, capital procurement, etc. LMBME who we are Lower Mainland Biomedical Engineering focuses on healthcare technology management.
