To support COWI''''s growing North American business, we are adding another Legal Counsel to our Group Legal team. Solid contractual and negotiation experience, with exposure to engineering, construction, or public procurements. This position will report to the Head of Legal responsible for Business Line International and will work out of COWI''''s North Vancouver office with COWI''''s current Legal Counsel in Canada. You will also be part of the Business Line International legal team, which includes lawyers based in Canada, Denmark and the UK. COWI''''s Group Legal includes 24 employees based across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the UK, and Canada and covers all of COWI''''s business lines. Although the position is in Canada, supporting COWI''''s US operations is a significant element of the role. Your key responsibilities will be: Providing general day-to-day legal assistance to the management and project teams in Canada and the United States Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating international design service contracts and joint venture agreements Providing counsel in dispute and settlement negotiations, including instructing and supporting external counsel Supporting and training COWI line managers and senior management on various legal subjects, including contracts, claims management, etc. Assisting with company due diligence, general corporate housekeeping and advising on legal compliance matters, including counselling on mergers and acquisitions Your skills.
