Business Development Lead Architecture & Consulting National Role | Canada Salary: Open to the right candidate''''s experience and established network City Build Recruitment is representing a well-established design and consulting practice seeking a Business Development Lead to drive strategic growth across Canada. This is a unique opportunity for a highly connected industry professional who thrives on building relationships and opening doors. The firm is seeking a true activator someone with an established network across the real estate and development community who can generate opportunities and help expand the firms presence nationally. This role is not focused on design delivery. Instead, it is centered on market development, client relationships, and identifying new project opportunities across both the commercial and residential sectors. Role Overview The Business Development Lead will focus on identifying and securing new work with privatesector clients, including developers, REITs, and major real estate organizations. The successful candidate will bring a strong network of industry contacts and the credibility to engage senior decisionmakers across the development and investment community. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to generate new project opportunities nationally Build and maintain relationships with developers, REITs, investors, and real estate organizations Identify opportunities across commercial and residential markets including office, retail, industrial, market housing, student housing, seniors living, longterm care, and largescale development projects Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking forums Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and strategic relationships Collaborate with internal leadership and design teams to position the firm for major pursuits Support proposal strategy and client engagement efforts Qualifications 515+ years of experience in business development, consulting, real estate, architecture, planning, or related industries Demonstrated ability to generate new business opportunities and maintain senior industry relationships Strong existing network within the Canadian development and real estate community Experience engaging with major developers, institutional investors, or REITs Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently develop opportunities Strong understanding of the development process and consulting business models Exceptional communication and relationshipbuilding skills This role is ideal for someone who is highly connected, commercially minded, and motivated to play a key role in growing a national practice.
