We are seeking an experienced Chief Inspector to lead Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) programs and serve as the Owners Chief Inspector in accordance with ABSA and ASME requirements. This position provides technical leadership, regulatory oversight, and client-facing support to ensure compliance, asset integrity, and the safe operation of pressure equipment programs. The role is a combination of field and office-based work, operating out of our Sherwood Park office. Responsibilities Client & Program Leadership Lead and oversee PEIM programs, including scope, scheduling, and annual budget development Act as liaison between ABSA and the Owner; participate in audits and regulatory reviews Build and strengthen client relationships while identifying growth opportunities Conduct and document stewardship meetings Plan and forecast inspection activities, including corrosion monitoring strategies Technical & Regulatory Oversight Act as the Owners Chief Inspector in compliance with ASME requirements Maintain accurate pressure equipment and PRD inventories Develop and manage inspection plans Perform in-service inspections and assess equipment fitness for service Review and approve repair and alteration procedures Update inspection intervals and grades per regulatory requirements Submit required ABSA notifications and reports on time Report incidents and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance NDE & Contractor Oversight Audit and approve NDE contractors, procedures, and personnel qualifications Review AI NDE Demonstration Letters (ASME Sec I, VIII, B31) Validate special processes and Quality Manuals Review, certify, and accept inspection and NDE reports Assess adverse findings, adjust inspection intervals as required, and implement corrective actions Governance & Reporting Weekly Review, disposition, and sign off Integrity NCRs Monthly Conduct and document stewardship meetings Forecast upcoming 3-month inspection activities Quarterly Certify and submit Electronic Summary Reports (ESR) Requirements High School Diploma or General Education Diploma ABSA InService Inspector (ISI) Certificate of Competency (IBPV, IPV & IPP) Minimum 15 years of InService Inspection experience Minimum 5 years of PEIM Program Management experience (AB-512 or AB-515) Technical Expertise & Regulatory Knowledge The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of Alberta pressure equipment legislation, integrity management systems, and applicable industry standards, including: Alberta Safety Codes Act & Pressure Equipment Regulations ABSA requirements (AB-506, AB-512, AB-513, AB-515, AB-519, AB-522, AB-524527) CSA B51, ASME BPVC & B31, ASME PCC-2, NBIC API 510, 570, 571 (API 653 considered an asset) Acuren PRAAIA29A001 PEIM and CANIMS22P001 Integrated Management System ASME B31 Owners Inspector requirements NDE methods (RT, UT, MT, PT, MFL, ACFM, etc.) Applicable jurisdictional Acts, Regulations, and Administrative Orders Additional assets Technical diploma or degree (Welding, Materials, Metallurgy, etc.) Eligibility for ASET, OACETT, or equivalent registration Strong technical writing and reporting skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and integrity management systems Benefits The strength of Acuren lies in its outstanding people.
