Job Description

We are looking for a Lead, Financial Operations with experience working in the insurance industry to join our client''''s Finance department for a 12-month contract. Key Accountabilities Treasury & Finance Operations: Manage bank accounts and cash levels, coordinate banking administration (positive pay, stop payments, fraud flags), and oversee outgoing payments for claims and broker commissions. Financial Reporting & Close: Own the month-end close timeline, review journal entries and reconciliations, and manage the distribution of financial results along with regulatory reporting. Audit & Controls: Serve as the primary contact for year-end audits, maintain internal controls over financial reporting, and manage the external financial statements. Decision Making & Interaction Autonomy: You are empowered to make decisions on month-end process. Collaboration: You will partner with the Director and VP of Finance on close timelines, and work closely with external auditors and banking partners. What You Bring Education & Certification: CPA designation or equivalent or near completion Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years spent reviewing and validating the work of others. Industry Knowledge: 2+ years of insurance experience. Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent time management.
