As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aeconled partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the construction of Unit1Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. Reporting to the Project Quality Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor Balance of Plant (BOP) will supervise the quality control inspection staff for the Balance of Plant segment and work with other Aecon sectors and alliance partners to monitor construction systems and processes that achieve outstanding nuclear safety metrics and costeffective quality operational results. What Youll Do Here Ensure Quality Control requirements for the Balance of Plant segment are effectively controlled and executed. Assist in the development and implementation of projectspecific quality control procedures and work instructions to support construction activities. Supervise and support the Quality Control Team assigned to the Balance of Plant segment. Interface with the engineering, procurement, and construction groups on matters related to the planning of QC activities required by design and applicable codes and standards; prepare Inspection and Test Plans, Construction Work Packages, and manage NCRs. Implement and oversee quality control procedures onsite to ensure construction meets all specifications and standards. This includes conducting inspections, supervising QC staff, managing materials, documenting findings, and acting as a liaison to address quality issues with project managers and clients. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and enhance project qualityrelated documentation, including inspection checklists, test protocols, work instructions, and projectspecific procedures. Establish a culture of continuous improvement by identifying new practices that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the project. Ensure timely inspections are performed based on the construction schedule. Maintain liaison with Alliance Partners on the execution quality control requirements of the Balance of Plant segment. Promote a culture of safety and quality within the BOP team. Support internal audits and customer oversight activities. Assist the project construction team with understanding codes and standards and regulatory requirements required by the design. Accountable for review and approval of Lifetime Records (LTRs). Handle any other requirements as outlined in Aecons Quality Manuals. What You Bring To The Team Postsecondary education in a related field. 7years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry with 5years of supervisory experience. A good understanding of the following codes and standards: CSAA23.1/A23.2/A23.4 ACI ASTM OPSS ISO9001:2015 Continuous improvement and the use of process improvement methodologies Understands design and construction requirements. Strong coordination and organization skills, with strict emphasis on accuracy and diligence. Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with internal departments, alliance partners, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities. CWB Weld Inspector LevelII (CWBW178.2) and AWS Weld Inspector certifications are considered an asset. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of standing. May be required to climb into awkward locations to view equipment product quality. May require working at heights. Eye exam required annually. Extensive reading. Reason for Vacancy: New Pay Range: $5564/hour Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
