Location: On site / Mississauga, ON, Canada Job type: Permanent / Full-time Sector and subsector: Engineering | Mechanical Salary: Negotiable Salary The Role Reporting to the Applications Aftermarket Team Leader, the Mechanical Engineer provides efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to large machinery. Key Responsibilities Mechanical design of packaging machinery and automation within assigned specifications. Provides engineering expertise throughout the project and product development lifecycle; from initial concept generation to detailed design, machine development, installation and customer acceptance. Work with Lead Product Line Designers to identify and implement cost savings in designs/materials. Manage assigned projects on schedule and within budget. Ensure Bills of Material are in line with agreed company standards. Support Sales Department with concept development for future projects. Specify and integrate OEM equipment in turnkey projects. Is driven by a desire for engineering excellence whilst helping ensure that designs are delivered within agreed cost and time constraints. Ensure projectrelated processes are fully adhered to. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Qualifications and Experience University Mechanical Engineering Education (advantageous) Mechanical engineering experience in the field of automation/industrial machinery. (Packaging Machinery is highly advantageous) CAD design experience (2D or 3D Autodesk Inventor) Good knowledge and understanding of design standards. Good level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel & Project). Good understanding of manufacturing & assembly processes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
