Area(s) of interest: Advisory services, Commercial banking A career as an Commercial Underwriting Specialist in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank is to act as a credit structuring and underwriting specialist who supports client success and risk management. This job allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach to credit and client service. Your role: Perform credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing clients, supporting the sales team with timely and effective credit submissions. Analyze financial statements, industry trends, and economic conditions to assess the viability of commercial lending opportunities. Manage daily operational and administrative interactions with clients to ensure exceptional service delivery. Provide risk recommendations and ensure adherence to lending protocols and due diligence practices. Collaborate with sales and credit teams to deliver competitive, full-service banking solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement and support branch success through proactive learning. Your team Within the Commercial Banking sector, you are part of a team of credit professionals and relationship managers, reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Management. Basic Requirements Hold a diploma in Business Administration or equivalent experience, ideally with 2+ years of experience in banking or commercial lending. Proven skills in financial statement analysis and commercial credit underwriting. Familiarity with credit tools such as Moodys Financial Analyst. Highly organized, driven, and eager to build a career in financial services. Strong computer proficiency and a commitment to continuous learning. Requirements: University degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably with 2+ years of experience in commercial banking or commercial lending . Demonstrated expertise in financial statement analysis and commercial credit adjudication . Proficiency with credit analysis tools and platforms, including Moodys Analytics (Financial Analyst) or comparable systems. Highly organized, self-motivated professional with a strong interest in building a long-term career in the financial services industry . Strong computer literacy and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development .
