The Financial Controller will oversee all financial activities across the companys three sites. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, and managing the finance team. The ideal candidate has experience in the food manufacturing or agricultural sector, preferably within meat or poultry processing, and brings strong leadership and analytical skills Our client A three decade well-established and growing food processing company with the head office based in the west end of Toronto. With a strong focus on quality, food safety, and community impact. What you will do Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Accounting. Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results and initiating corrective actions. Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax laws, payroll regulations, and reporting standards. Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and government agencies. Optimize the ERP system and other financial software to streamline financial processes and reporting. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization (e.g., plant expansions, capital investments, cost-saving initiatives). Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team. Create business case and pricing for new product launches Manage and recommend capital allocation / optimization What you will bring CPA designation (CPA, CMA, or CA) required. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters degree or MBA is an asset. Minimum 57 years of progressive experience in a senior accounting or financial management role. Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or agricultural sector preferred. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory controls, and financial analysis. Ability to tell a Financial Story to the Executive Team Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems). Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
