Tamarack Industries Tamarack is a Winnipeg based manufacturer of industrial heating equipment for the rental industries in both Canada and the USA. Tamarack has been in business for 33 years. Position Summary The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of this manufacturing business. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, cost management, and compliance with applicable regulations. The Director of Finance plays a critical role in supporting operational decision-making through financial analysis, and budgeting. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP/ASPE Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, and material variances Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and profitability Ensure accurate tracking of WIP, raw materials, and finished goods inventory Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Prepare financial analysis, KPIs, and management reports Provide insights on margins, pricing, capital expenditures, and operational performance Support strategic planning and business decision-making Cash Flow & Treasury Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital Oversee AR, AP, payroll, and banking relationships Ensure timely collections and vendor payments Systems & Process Improvement Oversee ERP and financial systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and controls Support system implementations or upgrades related to finance and manufacturing operations Leadership & Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting/finance team Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership Support senior management with financial guidance and reporting Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA, or equivalent professional designation preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment Global Shop Solutions ERP system experience preferable Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Analytical and problem-solving mindset Excellent communication and leadership skills High level of integrity and professionalism #J-18808-Ljbffr
