Position Overview Rochester Midland Corporation is looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager for the Greater Toronto Area. The Technical Services Manager is responsible for supporting the application technology of all product lines, technical oversight of all major water treatment programs, providing technical direction to field representatives, and supporting training to customers, sales, and service teams. The Technical Service Manager also assists the field sales and service team with technical problem solving and product selection. This role requires approximately 50% overnight field travel. Essential Job Functions Perform as the watermanagement expert for water and wastewater treatment for RMC products and programs in our served markets Assist customers and sales representatives in troubleshooting specific systems and applications Develop new training materials, provide sales representatives and customers with training seminars in the areas of boiler/cooling and wastewater treatment and maintain TechniTips Support the evaluation of new product technology for boiler, cooling, and polymer applications Partner with Marketing and Product Management regarding new products or materials Support the development and review of all technical data prior to release to the field Work jointly with the Water Energy Laboratory to perform failure analysis when necessary Partner with Marketing on PLS (product line simplification) Support Product Manager with updating and adding product information to the Product Guidelines for US and Canadian products Work with EH&S on special certifications such as NSF, Halal, Kosher, Organic, and SDS Support Marketing/Product Management with review and enhancement of Product Data Sheets for all new products Act as the Trail Boss for Corporate Accounts, responsible for communicating service guidelines and expectations to the field team, compiling action plans and ROI projects, maintaining timelines, project profiles, audits, ensuring service coverage and activities at all plant sites, reviewing service reports for content and quality, leading conference calls to discuss account status, attending Business Review meetings as needed, and supporting new business development through prospect surveys and technical proposal generation Perform similar/related duties as assigned or requested Education, Special Licenses or Certification Bachelors degree in a chemical or sciencerelated field with math and physical sciences including inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, physics, algebra, and calculus. Experience Ten years performing watertreatment duties in related industries or five years of field management experience in the watertreatment industry.
