We also offer a $400 Boot Allowance every two years to ensure employees have access to CSA approved safety boots.Health & Dental benefits: Such as prescription drug coverage, medical services, dental and vision as well as a Health Spending Account of $750 (minimum) to use as you like to top up our benefit programs.Professional Development & training: Expand your knowledge through various internal training programs and support of your professional certification goals.Wellness & Life Balance: Through our Employee Assistance Program we offer wellness tools for employees and their families, as well as a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation.Fun Team and Volunteer Events: Enjoy the opportunity to socialize with team members at events and volunteer activities within the community.Service and Referral Rewards: We appreciate our employees commitment to our success and growth through various creative rewards, (including a personalized bobblehead for a key milestone!)OUR OPPORTUNITYGovan Brown Edmonton has an exciting opportunity for a talented Site Manager/Superintendent to oversee and manage all onsite construction activities, ensuring client projects are executed safely and successfully meet project quality, schedule and financial goals.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeDevelop a detailed action plan and schedule to execute the project on time and on budget by effectively mobilizing labour, equipment and material resourcesMaximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency of labourers and subcontractorsInterpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specificationsManage subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to the project construction schedule and budgetLiaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders the Project Manager (and the PMA), Landlord, Client, Consultants, Architects, Engineers and DesignerCreate a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practicesCoordinate projects with municipalities, environmental protection agencies etc. to ensure continuous operation of servicesExercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required to mitigate potential risks and hazardsOversee project close out activities, including quick resolution of deficiencies and site cleanupWhat You Bring5+ years of construction management experienceExperience in the Commercial Construction/Interior fitup industry requiredStrong leadership skills to effectively hold others accountable achieving project goalsRelationship savvy and interpersonal skills to demand the respect of all stakeholdersUnderstanding of applicable health and safety and constructionrelated legislationExceptional time management to prioritize activities and allocate resources effectivelyCommitment to recognizing and mitigating risksStrong negotiation and dispute resolution skillsHigh degree of integrity, honesty and ethicsComputer proficiency in OutlookFederal Government project experience is an assetReliability or Secret clearance is an assetYOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTThe office is located at 10171 Saskatchewan Drive NW, Edmonton.Your primary work location will be on a construction site, with exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons.On-site.
