Location Canada, hybrid Type Permanent, full-time Pay Range $1 25,000 $200,000 Vacancy Type New Position Position Summary The Lead, Estate & Insurance Advisor is a senior, client-facing specialist responsible for designing and implementing estate, insurance, and risk management strategies for PWL clients. This role partners closely with PWLs Wealth Advisory Team and external legal and tax professionals to ensure seamless integration of insurance and estate planning into comprehensive financial plans. Rooted in PWLs fiduciary, evidence-based philosophy, this role is intentionally designed to focus on the quality of planning over product sales pressure, ensuring that every recommendation is driven exclusively by client needs, long-term outcomes, and technical excellence. This is both a technical expert role and a strategic leadership position, providing internal education, deal support, and best-practice guidance across the firm. Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Planning Lead complex estate and insurance planning engagements for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients Design and implement insurance strategies including: Life insurance (personal & corporate) Living benefits (disability, critical illness, health) Business succession insurance Provide advanced estate planning strategies such as: Estate equalization Charitable giving Trust and corporate planning coordination Analyze existing insurance policies and recommend optimization strategies Deliver clear, client-friendly explanations of complex planning solutions Internal Leadership & Collaboration Act as the firms subject-matter expert for estate and insurance solutions Partner with Wealth Advisors, Associate Advisors, and Planning Teams on case design and client strategy Support M&A integrations by reviewing insurance books and transitioning clients Mentor and train Advisors on insurance and estate fundamentals Develop internal best practices, workflows, and planning standards Business Development & Growth Participate in business development efforts related to insurance and estate planning Support Advisors with client presentations, second opinions, and technical credibility Strengthen relationships with key centers of influence (lawyers, accountants, tax specialists) Compliance & Documentation Ensure all insurance recommendations comply with CIRO, provincial regulatory bodies, and carrier requirements Maintain accurate records, needs analyses, and suitability documentation Stay current on regulatory changes, tax law updates, and product innovations Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of experience in insurance, estate planning, or advanced financial planning Licensed Life Insurance Advisor in applicable provinces Corporate insurance planning Taxation of insurance Strong client advisory and presentation skills Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams Experience working with discretionary portfolio management firms Exposure to M&A client transitions or multi-advisor environments is an asset Bilingual (English/French) considered a strong asset PWL takes great pride in providing unparalleled wealth management services to individuals and families across Canada.
