We are seeking a Domain Tech Lead to drive the development and delivery of digital wealth products that enhance client investment journeys. This role will lead agile hives, ensuring the seamless integration of technology, regulatory compliance, and client experience. You will work closely with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to implement the Wealth Digital Products strategy, enabling growth in FX, Structured Products, Fixed Income, Equities, Wealth Lending, and Bancassurance. The role holder is expected to help with the co-creation of the technology roadmap in close consultation with business, architecture and associated teams including Risk Management, Enterprise Technology, Functions, etc. This role requires a facilitating leadership approach, supporting the hive members to execute the technology solution and delivery within the individual WRB Hives. The domain lead in this space is expected to empower hive members to co-create and imbibe a sense of ownership and accountability within the team, leading to higher levels of engagement and innovation. The lead would also serve as the single WRB Technology point of contact to stakeholders ensuring application ownership and adherence to enterprise service levels. Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy Execution Lead the end-to-end technology delivery for agile hives focused on wealth products. Align digital wealth product development with business objectives, ensuring timely execution of the roadmap. Define and implement scalable, secure, and compliant architectures that support digital trading, investment products, and insurance propositions. Partner with Wealth & Retail Banking domain leads to drive innovation, digital-first engagement, and ecosystem standardization. Advocate for best practices in UI/UX, data security, and API-driven integrations. Growth mindset, aligned to modern ways of working. Agile Delivery & Engineering Excellence Oversee technology teams in designing, developing, and deploying investment solutions, ensuring adherence to agile and DevOps principles. Establish engineering best practices, leveraging cloud, microservices, and modern development frameworks. Drive automation in testing, deployment, and monitoring to enhance reliability and scalability. Manage technical dependencies across multiple teams and external partners. Stakeholder and Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Business, Risk, and Compliance to ensure solutions meet client needs and regulatory standards. Engage with regional and global teams to expand wealth offerings in new markets (e.g., Korea, Kenya, Bahrain, Taiwan). Collaborate with design teams to refresh UI/UX for digital trading platforms in Singapore and Hong Kong. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Drive enhancements in structured product offerings, FX digital assets trading, and equities lending through biometric and digital automation. Leverage AI/ML and analytics to optimize client journeys and personalize investment experiences. Ensure continuous learning within the tech team, fostering a culture of innovation and upskilling. Key Responsibilities Strategy Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with WRB and TTO goals and objectives. Oversee multiple hives and ensure their mission/vision aligns toward a common client journey. Drive the technology roadmap to align with modern platform architecture and libraries. Provide thought leadership to the wider technology community (via papers, blogs, industry seminars, forums, etc.). Execute the Hive''''s product vision with the Chief Product Owner/Hive Leads. Work with the CPO, Engineering Leads and Architect to communicate and execute the Technology vision and roadmap for the Hive. Demonstrate ability to convince business stakeholders around technology solutions. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Business Units, Functions, Risk, CFCC, HR, Finance, Legal, GIA, and others. Business Collaborate with key stakeholders across WRB, Sales and Distribution, Technology, Data and Digital teams. Engage Group/Regional/Country teams to present business cases and contribute to work prioritization aligned with WRB and Technology objectives. Drive business outcomes supported by technology pillars/products. Contribute to establishing the product roadmap through collaborative discussions with stakeholders. Take full ownership for all applications owned by the Domain. Responsible for resilience, obsolescence and stability of application health. Partner with Chief Product Owners and Chapter Area leads to manage capacity and ensure squads are set up for success. Guide Engineering Leads to ensure technical consistency of solutions with the business architecture. Lead architecture evaluations during RFPs for technology tools and service providers. Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset. Processes Support continuous improvement to increase operation efficiency and effectiveness across domains and key business processes. Support delivery of business strategies in a safe, self-controlled, end-to-end manner. Solve potential interdependencies between platforms/systems. Participate in quarterly planning for the Domain and provide steering with the Chief Product Owner. Provide inputs and guidance on technology budget and costs for the Hive. People and Talent Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability. Mentor, train and develop high performing teams who feel empowered to develop high quality products for the end client. Collaborate with support functions, business partners, and COEs to provide effective client outcomes. Coach to help others grow, leading the human/teams. Provide technology thought leadership, inspire and retain engineering talents by developing internal and external networks of technologists. Create a pipeline of technical talent and develop the talent pool with Coaches and Chapter Leads. Chair and lead communities of practice. Perform a vital communication role on technology matters. Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Contribute to the organization by sharing knowledge and expertise. Work with Coaches and CPO to build an empowered, high performing team in a psychologically safe environment. Empower their team (Engineering Leads) to work with the hive; the role does not require constant direct involvement in every hive. Risk Management Create awareness and comply with the regulatory framework and risk environment in which the Group operates. Ensure adherence to high ethics and compliance standards with policies, processes, and regulations. Act as the risk control owner under the Groups risk management framework. Responsible for effective risk management across all initiatives planned for the hive. Act as risk control owner at the appropriate level. Regulatory and Governance Display exemplary conduct and live by the Groups Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics across Standard Chartered Bank. Represent the domain in governance and risk committees, e.g., NFRC. Deliver conduct plans across region and relevant technology forums. Ensure GRAM risk rating for the domain is maintained. Represent the Hive in governance forums and ensure technology leaders across Hives participate in planning and show & tells. Our Ideal Candidate Bachelors degree in Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 15+ years of experience in Technology Leadership Roles. Strong servant leadership experience and willingness to lead from the front. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in startups/agile mindset and in operating highly-available systems in technology companies or financial institutions.
