The Community Relations (CR) team supports and empowers the Mtis Nation of Ontarios volunteer Community and Advisory Councils to govern effectively and achieve their goals through strong governance. The team provides comprehensive support in governance training, engagement and workshop facilitation, policy and procedure interpretation, issues management, conflict resolution, election support, citizen engagement, and the development of tools and resources that strengthen council capacity and effectiveness. Within the Community Relations team, the Technical Advisor provides highlevel logistical and technical support specifically with the planning, execution, and followup of virtual and hybrid engagement events (webinars). The Technical Advisor conducts research; drafts, reviews, and updates resources; maintains detailed records; and prepares briefing materials and reports. This role manages all aspects of webinar and virtual event delivery, oversees special projects, and supports online surveys, voting, and engagement technologies. In collaboration with CR colleagues, elected leadership, and other MNO Branches, this role contributes to councilfocused initiatives to ensure consistency, quality, and high operational standards. This fulltime position is wellsuited to a proactive, detailoriented, and adaptable professional committed to excellence and continuous improvement. The Community Relations Technical Advisor also works collaboratively with the Strategy Branch and other MNO Branches to address issues directly affecting councils and citizen engagement. This position reports to the Supervisor and is responsive to the Manager of Community Relations within the Governance Branch. What will you be doing Manage and deliver professional Zoom webinars and virtual events from planning through execution, ensuring a seamless experience for speakers and participants. This includes event setup, branding, registration, audience engagement, live moderation, troubleshooting, and postevent reporting and analysis. Provide technical and logistical support for virtual, hybrid, and inperson meetings and events, including MNO Virtual Town Halls, the Annual General Assembly, training sessions, and other largescale Community Relations or Branchled engagements. Lead or support councilcentric initiatives and special projects aligned with Community Relations workplan priorities, including community engagement activities, council boundary reviews, election readiness and technical planning, online surveys, tracking action items and ensuring governing documents are maintained and updated. Develop, update, and maintain key rolerelated training materials, standard operating procedures, provide Zoom presentations, and workshops. Prepare written materials, including briefing notes, memos, reports, and contribute to internal documentation and resource development. Build and maintain positive internal and external relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues, councils, advisory committees, and stakeholders to support engagement, meetings, and events. Support Community Council governance functions, including elections, filling of vacancies, Annual General Meetings, and navigate council inquiries to appropriate supports and resources. Provide community outreach support as required, and actively promote the Mtis Nation of Ontario, its priorities, values, and key policy initiatives. Demonstrate strong technological literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, videoconferencing platforms, and managing databases. Maintain confidentiality at all times and complete all required Human Resources and professional development training to enhance knowledge and skills. Be available to work flexible hours, including weekday evenings, and occasional weekends. Must participate in team strategic planning inperson sessions and at events as may be identified. Qualifications College Diploma (1 or 2 year) Completion of postsecondary education in communications, technology, education, marketing or a related field. A combination of education and work experience will be considered. 3 to 5 years of experience (minimum 24 years of work experience in a similar role that includes relative skills to this position such as videoconferencing, event coordination, communications). Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, multiissue environment while serving a wide range of interests and stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, customerservice, and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to and engaging with diverse audiences. Detailoriented, resultsfocused, and highly organized, with strong time, priority, and project management skills to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. Strong problemsolving, analytical, and criticalthinking abilities, with the capacity to take initiative, lead tasks, adapt priorities, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated political acuity, discretion, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and cultural sensitivity. Knowledge of Mtis and/or Indigenous issues, or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of Mtisspecific matters. Proficiency and experience in using videoconferencing tools, particularly Zoom meetings and webinars. Advanced competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. High level of technological literacy, with the ability and willingness to learn new platforms and systems. Willingness and flexibility to adjust working hours, including evenings, to accommodate events and organizational needs.
