Mamann Sandaluk LLP is a full-service immigration law firm located in downtown Toronto. We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Law Clerk to manage a variety of routine and complex permanent and temporary immigration applications. Job Type: Full-time, On-site Salary: Commensurate with experience, generous benefits package To qualify for this role, you must have: 2+ years of Canadian immigration experience, including Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications, procedural fairness responses, judicial reviews, Refugee Claims, etc. University/College an asset Strong English communication skills Knowledge of Canadian immigration practices and procedures Knowledge of a second language is an asset Main responsibilities include: Preparing applications for various temporary and permanent immigration matters, including Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications, procedural fairness responses, TRP, Refugee-related matters, judicial review applications before the Federal Court, and related applications; Communicating with clients to request documentation, provide updates, and respond to routine inquiries; Monitoring emails and shared inboxes and responding or directing inquiries as appropriate; Uploading and submitting applications through government portals (IRCC Portal, PR Portal, Employer Portal, etc.); Assisting with the collation, organization, and preparation of files for submission; Maintaining accurate client records by ensuring all correspondence, forms, and notes are recorded in the internal case management system and that all fields are completed and updated; Preparing immigration forms and supporting materials in accordance with established procedures; Tracking deadlines and maintaining calendars for submissions, document requests, and follow-ups; Printing, scanning, photocopying, faxing, and saving applicants documents; Preparing courier envelopes and labels and, if required, assisting with tracking courier deliveries; Conducting basic research (for example, compiling company information or background details for cases); Researching immigration laws, procedures, policies, and recent developments; Pulling reports from client management systems and assisting with file audits as required; Preparing client invoices and following up to assist with the collection of receivables; Assisting with general administrative and case management tasks as required.
