Construction Project Manager Location: Stoney Creek, ON Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: $100,000-$130,000 per year Travel: Occasional travel required (must be comfortable traveling from time to time) Role Summary We are hiring a Construction Project Manager to oversee construction projects from planning through close-out. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, safety, subcontractors, and overall project execution to ensure successful delivery. This position suits a hands-on leader with strong construction experience who can manage multiple projects, solve problems proactively, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance. Key Responsibilities Lead construction projects from initiation through close-out, ensuring safe, compliant, and successful delivery Maintain a strong health and safetyfirst approach across all project phases and job sites Plan, coordinate, and adjust project schedules, resources, equipment, and work plans as required Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with contract terms, specifications, and regulatory requirements Review and interpret drawings, specifications, RFQs/RFPs, and other project documentation Secure required permits, approvals, and licenses prior to and throughout project execution Monitor project performance, risks, costs, and timelines, escalating issues as needed Manage project budgets, labor hours, cost tracking, and approvals for additional expenditures Collaborate with estimating and finance teams on cost analysis, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting Identify and support value-added change orders and scope optimization opportunities Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with scope, quality, safety, and schedule expectations Lead project meetings, site visits, and coordination activities Ensure quality standards, installation practices, and applicable codes are met Resolve technical, operational, and contractual issues using sound judgment and negotiation skills Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and close-out records Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience in construction project management Hands-on trade background in a construction environment is an asset (e.g., mechanical, piping, welding, electrical, plumbing, or similar trade experience) Strong working knowledge of construction methods, installation practices, and job-site operations Proven experience managing contracts, schedules, budgets, and cost controls Solid understanding of construction processes, including RFIs, RFQs, change orders, and project documentation Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word; Project considered an asset) Valid Ontario G drivers licence and access to a personal vehicle Comfortable with occasional travel to project sites and meetings Preferred / Assets Experience in mechanical or industrial construction Engineering background or construction trade experience Experience working in unionized environments Professional designation (P.Eng, PMP, MBA) considered an asset Work Environment Combination of office-based work and active construction site visits. Ability to manage deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
