Investment Analyst Winnipeg, MB Located in downtown Winnipeg at The Forks, TRAF (Teachers Retirement Allowances Fund) is seeking an Investment Analyst to join their investments team. Reporting to a Portfolio Manager, this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the diligence, analysis, and ongoing monitoring of TRAFs investment manager relationships, with an initial focus on private markets. As the Investment Analyst, you will play an integral role in investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, and investment operations. This position is best suited for a talented individual with the skill, desire, and passion to produce positive results. As the Investment Analyst, you will: Develop a strong working knowledge of investment manager selection, due diligence, and portfolio management across multiple asset classes. Assist with the origination, evaluation, and analysis of new investment opportunities. Support due diligence processes for prospective investments, including financial analysis, qualitative assessment, and risk evaluation. Assist with the oversight and analysis of the investment portfolio, including performance measurement, attribution analysis, and risk management support. Prepare clear, concise investment memorandums, reports, and presentations. Build and maintain effective working relationships with external investment managers, institutional investors, consultants, and other industry participants. Develop, maintain, and enhance tools used to monitor investment markets and portfolio performance. Conduct ad hoc investment-related research and analysis as assigned. You and Your Experience: One to five years of relevant experience in business, finance, or investments. Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Completion of, or enrollment in, the CFA program is preferred. Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Solid understanding of accounting principles and investment theory. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg, Copilot, and data visualization software is an asset. Self-starter with a high level of integrity, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Willingness and ability to travel as required.
