YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: Payroll & Compensation Administration Providing backup support for BC payroll processes and assisting with payroll administration for the newly established U.S. subsidiary, including 401(k), QSEHRA administration, and applicable quarterly and annual government filings Consolidating and reviewing employee timesheets for approval Reconciling vacation accruals and banked time balances Supporting benefits administration, RRSP contributions, and related reporting Employee Relations & Performance Management Providing practical HR guidance to managers on employee relations matters Supporting performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, coaching, and corrective actions Assisting with workplace investigations as required Promoting a respectful and high-performing work environment Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Managing full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation Enhancing recruitment strategies to attract qualified engineering and technical talent Building and maintaining relationships with employment agencies and university networks Supporting onboarding programs to improve the new hire experience Termination & Offboarding Preparing termination documentation and severance letters in compliance with applicable legislation Reviewing final pay calculations, including statutory entitlements and accrued balances Coordinating termination processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll adjustments Conducting exit interviews and providing insights to management for continuous improvement Ensuring proper offboarding procedures, including system access removal and documentation completion HR Operations Supporting training and development initiatives Implementing, administering, and improving HR policies and procedures Ensuring compliance with BC Employment Standards and applicable U.S. employment regulations Preparing employment documentation, including offer letters, employment agreements, policy updates, and termination or severance letters Maintaining accurate employee records in HR systems Identifying gaps and recommending improvements to HR processes and internal controls Providing backup support for travel bookings, visa applications, and PR applications when required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, or 24 years of progressive HR experience Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation; exposure to U.S. HR and payroll practices considered an asset Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, and payroll administration Solid understanding of HR best practices and regulatory compliance requirements Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills High level of professionalism with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Collaborative team player with a strong sense of initiative and accountability
