Micron Mechanical is seeking an experienced Sr. HVAC/r Technician (Journeyperson) to join our growing team. Micron is specifically looking for a Sr. HVAC/R Journeyperson or Lead Journeyperson who is well experienced in working on large-scale manufacturing and industrial facilities in the Lower Mainland. This specialized journeyperson would work closer with all stakeholders within global production facilities to provide high-value recommendations and long-term forecasting on HVAC systems that would complement business goals of the client. Being confident in an environment surrounded by stakeholders from engineers, facilities managers and health/safety managers is a key component of being successful in this role. As the journeyperson continues to build off the pre-existing long-term relationships with Microns high value, multi-year clients he/she would also bring apprentices onto the site to train and mentor for continued stability and support of all HVAC systems for our clients benefit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of10 yearsof experience in HVAC/r systems with a firm understanding of all aspects of the trade including, installations, retrofits and service/maintenance. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and service at a minimum, the following systems, AHUs, RTUs, Chillers, Coils, Fans, Electrical, Thermostats and Combustion Systems and all other commercial sized HVAC/R systems Inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning properly Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and improve efficiency Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with HVAC systems and make necessary repairs Technology is your best friend, you advocate for digital systems and support the systems already put into place by the Company, ensuring all aspects of a job from scheduling, communication and customer interactions are streamlined yet transparent Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication Follow safety procedures and regulations while working on HVAC systems Future-forward in how the HVAC/R landscape looks by advocating for technology that would benefit both the business and client. Lead by Example: Supporting apprentices in understanding the mechanical systems and driving a thoughtful and hard-working approach to each project and customer interaction. Upholding and promoting the benefits of Worksafe BC best practices while on the job. Qualifications 10+ years experience as a HVAC/R technician Red Seal in HVAC/R ticket (required) Class B Gas ticket (required) Class A Gas ticket (preferred) Valid drivers license and clean driving record Ability to read, understand and communicate with suppliers, manufacturers and refer to technical manuals for service and retrofit projects Ability to run large-scale commercial and industrial-sized systems including reading blueprints, assessing and recommending changes as necessary with Engineers, Facilities, Health/Safety, Building Ops and General Contractors, ability to manage a team of apprentices, drive timelines and scheduling and meet business targets in an open and transparent manner with ownership Familiarity with controls would be an asset Excellent problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team Ability to lead and train Job Type: Full-time Compensation Package: As dictated under UA516 Collective Agreement & Wage Table under Journeyperson and/or with confirmed experience and qualifications, Lead Journeyperson Training and Education: Yes, customized in line with overall business and personal career goals
