PCH currently operates two new state-of the-art LTC homes and community hub in West Mississauga. The new homes have a combined 632-beds and be part of PCHs larger strategy that introduce innovative and inclusive programs and services and new models of care delivery. Position Summary: The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist leads advanced analytics, data modeling, and enterprise reporting to deliver actionable insights for executive and operational decision-making. The role designs scalable BI solutions, drives data governance, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to advance digital transformation and data literacy. Key Responsibilities 1. Analytics, Insights & Reporting Design, build, and automate executive and enterprise dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-serve reports. Conduct deep-dive analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Translate complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for leaders. Deliver clear and meaningful insights to executives and operational teams. Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency in all BI outputs. Translate business requirements into BI specifications and deliverables 2. Data Analytics & Insights Conduct advanced analytics, forecasting, and trend analysis. Identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers using complex datasets. Support strategic planning through data modeling and scenario analysis. 3. Data Management & Modeling Develop and optimize data models, data marts, and analytical datasets. Collaborate with IT on data warehouse architecture and ETL pipelines. Ensure strong data governance, metadata standards, and validated data sources Evaluate emerging BI/AI features and lead proofs-of-concept for modernization 4. Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement Facilitate requirements gathering, define KPIs/definitions, and manage expectations. Provide training, documentation, and coaching to analysts and business users for BI tools and dashboards. Partner with leaders to understand information needs. Represent BI expertise on cross-functional initiatives (finance, operations, clinical/programs, IT). Support business case development and executive reporting. 5. Data Governance, Privacy & Compliance Apply data governance standards, stewardship practices, and data classification. Ensure privacy/security compliance (e.g., PHIPA/HIPAA as applicable) and ethical data usage. Maintain auditready documentation for models, transformations, and KPIs. 6. Advanced Analytics & AIEnabled Insights Lead predictive analytics, segmentation, and advanced statistical methods when appropriate. Integrate Python/R or AutoML/AI features with BI reporting where beneficial. Operationalize analytics with monitoring, versioning, and continuous improvement. 7. Automation & Process Improvement Automate manual reporting and implement BI best practices. Improve efficiency and accuracy of analytics processes. Evaluate new technologies to enhance BI capabilities. 8. Project & Delivery Management Plan and manage BI projects end-to-end: scope, timeline, resourcing, and stakeholder updates. Support digital transformation and enterprise analytics initiatives. Work with cross-functional teams across IT, operations, clinical and finance Balance multiple priorities: elevate risks early and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure high-quality releases using peer review, testing, and deployment standards. Qualifications Education & Credentials Bachelors degree in Data/Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field Experience 58+ years in BI/analytics with proven experience building enterprise dashboards and complex data models. Strong background in SQL, DAX/Power BI (or Tableau), and data warehousing/ETL concepts. Experience working with executives and cross-functional teams; healthcare/LTC/public sector experience is an asset. Technical Skills Advance Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query), or Tableau; strong SQL (TSQL). Data warehousing (e.g., SQL Server/Azure Synapse), ETL/ELT (e.g., ADF, SSIS, dbt). Version control (e.g., Git), DevOps/Deployment pipelines, and BI governance (RLS, CI/CD). Python/R for analytics and automation (asset); understanding of statistical/predictive methods. Strong analytical thinking and problem solving. Excellent communication of complex data to nontechnical audiences. Business acumen and understanding of operational performance. High attention to detail and data accuracy. Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across the organization. Working Conditions Fastpaced office environment within a large longterm care organization. Requires balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. Occasional extended hours during budget cycles, audits, or major reporting periods.
