Were looking for an Architectural Technologist who knows how to bring buildings to life visually. This role sits inside a busy Edmonton general contractor , working directly with project managers, estimators, and leadership to translate ideas, sketches, and construction drawings into clear 2D drawings and compelling 3D renderings . This is not a purely technical drafting job. We want someone who understands how buildings actually go together and can communicate design intent visually whether thats helping a client picture their project before its built or helping a project team identify issues before they hit the field. What Youll Be Doing Create 2D architectural drawings and construction visuals from conceptual sketches and design direction Develop high-quality 3D models and renderings for presentations, proposals, and client approvals Work closely with project managers, estimators, and leadership to visualize projects before construction Assist with design development, layouts, and construction detailing Produce visuals that help clients understand the project scope and design intent Support marketing and proposal teams with renderings and graphics when needed Ensure drawings align with building codes, municipal requirements, and construction standards Identify potential design conflicts early by reviewing models and drawings with the project team What Were Looking For Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or related field 3+ years of experience in architectural drafting or visualization Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar modeling software Experience producing 2D construction drawings and 3D renderings Understanding of commercial construction and how buildings are actually built Ability to take rough concepts and turn them into clear visual representations Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple projects Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical team members Nice to Have Experience with Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, or other rendering software Exposure to design-build construction projects Experience creating visualizations for client presentations or proposals Why This Role is Different Many architectural technologists sit behind a desk producing drawings for someone elses vision.
