Senior DevOps Engineer Department: AI & Software Engineering Location: Remote (Open to candidates across Canada) Compensation: Competitive Based on experience About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing AI & Software Engineering team. This role is ideal for a cloud-native infrastructure expert who thrives in modern environments built around automation, scalability, security, and reliability. You will design, implement, and optimize secure, production-grade cloud platforms while leading CI/CD automation initiatives and managing containerized workloads. You will collaborate closely with engineering, data, and AI teams to support microservices and ML-driven systems in a high-availability environment. This is a key technical leadership role with real ownership and impact. What You Will Do Architect, implement, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep Deploy, monitor, and scale containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) Define monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies for high system reliability Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production systems Collaborate with engineering and AI/ML teams to support cloud-native workloads Enforce Git best practices including branching strategies and code reviews Mentor engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams Required Experience & Qualifications 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (networking, compute, storage, security, monitoring) Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform / Bicep) Deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes / AKS in production Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for automation Experience supporting PostgreSQL or other SQL databases in cloud environments Strong Git and version control expertise Experience leading production incidents and driving reliability improvements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) Nice to Have Experience with MLOps or supporting AI/ML production workloads Familiarity with SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets) Cloud security best practices and IAM expertise Experience operating large-scale cloud-native platforms Masters degree in a related technical discipline Technical Stack Cloud: Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS) Languages: Python, Bash Databases: PostgreSQL Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana Security: IAM, secrets management, HA/DR strategies What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental) Flexible time off Professional development & training support Performance-based bonuses Collaborative, innovation-driven culture Opportunity to work on AI-native and cloud-native systems Who You Are Strong problem-solver with infrastructure depth Clear communicator across technical and non-technical teams High ownership and accountability Detail-oriented and quality-driven Continuous learner passionate about modern DevOps practices Application Questions Please include: Your experience with Azure and CI/CD platforms Years of DevOps / Cloud experience Experience with Kubernetes in production Salary expectations Availability to start If you are passionate about building resilient, scalable cloud infrastructure and enabling high-performing engineering teams, we would love to hear from you.
