Heres what you can expect in your role: Job Purpose As a Category Development Manager, you will deliver winning category management strategies by developing and executing insight-driven recommendations to grow the overall Vitamins/Minerals/Supplements (VMS) category and generate joint value with retailers. Overall Responsibilities Reporting to the Category Solutions Team Lead, the Category Development Manager leads the development, execution, and performance tracking of category growth strategies for the dynamic and growing VMS Category. Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in category management, insights integration, and a passion for driving business growth. We are looking for an energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and an innate ability to build strong collaborative relationships, internally and externally. Key Responsibilities Analytics & Reporting: Analyze syndicated data (Nielsen IQ, Circana, IRI, LDIA) to identify growth opportunities, risks and competitive dynamics. Use Nielsen and retailer POS platforms to build, track, and report on channel and retailer KPIs. Drive fact-based decision-making and story telling through analytics and consumer insights. Monitor and manage key KPIs including dollar sales, unit sales, ACV distribution/TDP, velocity, and UPT. Shelf Excellence: Drive distribution gains, assortment optimization and shelving recommendations using data driven insights. Use space management software to develop planograms that would be shopper centric, drives optimal layouts, and maximizes sales for the category. Manage SKU productivity and recommend rationalization where needed. Category Management: Build compelling assortment and placement recommendations using market insights, consumer behavior research and retail banner-level performance. Support innovation launches with banner-specific assortment and planogram strategies. Thought Leadership: Creates a category vision at retail by leveraging category, shopper, and consumer insights that highlight impactful customer opportunities AND yield profitable growth for the category. Consistently expands influence and trust with customers. Collaborator and Innovator: Is a strategic thought partner to our Marketing, Sales Strategy, and Customer Facing Sales teams, championing storytelling and uncovering actionable insights across consumer, shopper, category, and market to shape strategic decisions. What You Bring Knowledge, Skills & Experience University degree in Business or related field; MBA preferred. 2-3 years of Category Management experience in CPG. Demonstrated track record of creating and implementing category growth strategies. Strong ability to build relationships internally and externally at all levels of the organization. Proficiency with Nielsen IQ, Home scan, retailer data platforms Loblaw LDIA, Walmart Retail Link, IRI, Dunnhumby, etc. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Spaceman/JDA. Core Competencies Analytic storytelling skills: integrating and interpreting data and insights from multiple disparate sources into concise action-oriented recommendations and strong presentation skills to bring relevant recommendations to life and inspire action from retailers. Self-starter: sets high standards for excellence with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for execution and results. Business and commercial acumen: able to identify and focus on growth-driving opportunities, with ability to leverage existing and emerging insights to inform business decisions and integrate these into the commercial planning process. Thought partner: can seamlessly partner with Marketing and Sales to build high-impact category growth recommendations and execute these with success. A continuous learner with a desire for staying ahead of industry, competitor, and retailer trends. Problem Solver: can clearly identify category and/or business problems or challenges and with a data-centric approach, can proactively solve with urgency. Can effectively rally organizational partners to arrive at actionable solutions. For this role, the posting range is $68,775 $117,900, which reflects the full salary range of the position. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
