We are currently accepting applications for a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) Registered or Provisional Psychologist to join our team for the 2025 2026 program year to support our team at Janice McTighe Centre location (2050 21 St. NE). ECS/Elementary Education Programs The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and a strong understanding of development. This role involves working with individuals, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs. Enable and support learning for the youth and child and family members in the school, home and community. Develop treatment goals to assist in determining therapeutic progress. Review therapeutic interventions with parents and staff on a regular basis. Supporting parents through parenting concerns and challenges, offering resources and strategies from a trauma-informed and strength-based perspective, and focused on parenting skills, decreasing risk factors, increasing protective factors and functional capacity. Documentation/record keeping: record observations/complete progress notes, document direct/indirect time, write service summary reports or assessment reports, summarize recommendations and monthly kilometers Reports and other client documentation. Service planning and goal setting. Client advocacy and follow-up services with other organizations/health care providers. Consult with funders, partners in the community (as needed). Conduct and score various assessments, provide strategies and suggestions to caregivers/parents, teachers, physicians and other individuals on how to meet the clients needs, develop behaviour support plans and social stories, and support staff and/or caregivers/parents on the implementation. Qualifications: Masters degree in Psychology; current registration and good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Familiarity with the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, Code of Professional Con duct, Principles for Psychological Testing, Family Enhancement Act, Mental Health Act, Persons with Disabilities Act. Experience with trauma-informed practice knowledge and experience. Experience in counselling with children and youth with special needs and their families. Experience with assessment, intervention and counseling in numerous areas (psychoeducational, social/emotional, behavioral, Autism, FASD, Learning Disabilities etc.). Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices. Experience working in community health or Primary Care Network considered an asset. A good listener, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have a vehicle, valid Alberta Drivers License, and a clean driving record. A reliable vehicle, auto insurance with a minimum $2,000,000.00 liability and drivers license is required. Must have professional liability insurance. Pre-Requisite Security Clearance Documentation: Successful candidates must provide us with a valid Calgary Police Check with Vulnerable Sector dated within 3 months prior to their start date. Intervention Record Check through Alberta Child Services is also required, however, we can support you with completing this during your onboarding.
