Your role with us: Reporting to the Senior Technology Engineer, Instrumentation, the Electronics Engineering Technologist will innovate and improve instrumentation technology products. The Electronics Engineering Technologist will problem-solve, prototype test systems, run tests, create schematics, and troubleshoot PCB & firmware to enable delivery of solutions that improve safety and efficiency of well construction. You will bring to the role: Minimum 3 years of experience working in hands-on roles manufacturing circuit boards/electronics. Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma and/or equivalent experience. CET designation is an asset. Experience working with electronics in the oil and gas industry is preferred. Experience with schematic design, PCB layout and firmware design and development. Experience with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software such as Altium, KiCAD, or similar. Experience in embedded controller programming in PLC, C or C++ language for 8-to-32-bit microcontrollers. Thorough understanding of test methods, digital and analog circuit design, and embedded controllers. Understanding of the operation and application of a wide variety of sensor elements for use in harsh environments. Experience developing and delivering training. Knowledge of hazardous location electrical requirements is an asset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
