The Licensed Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronics systems in a highly automated Hilton Foods production facility. This role ensures production reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe operation of all electrical and control systems. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics and code specifications to install and operationalize industrial equipment. Install, maintain, test, and repair electric motors, sensors, servo drive, variable frequency drive and automated equipment used in food processing. Troubleshoot HMIs, PLC ladder logic, electrical and electronic control systems, including PLCbased automation used on production lines. Siemens/Allen Bradly PLC experience is highly desirable. Perform rootcause analysis to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Inspect production equipment for wear, malfunction risks, and compliance with foodsafety electrical standards. Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and internal foodsafety standards. (ISO, HACCP) Complete preventative maintenance and corrective work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintain and update the site ESA logbook. Ensure electrical systems meet foodplant sanitation and safety requirements. Follow lockout/tagout, arcflash, and plant safety procedures. KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Completion of secondary school required. Valid Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction & Maintenance (309A) license in province of Ontario. Completion of an approved apprenticeship program. Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, sensors, and control systems. Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Familiarity with foodmanufacturing equipment such as conveyors, packaging systems, chillers, mixers, grinders, slicers, batching systems, etc. 35 years of industrial or manufacturing electrician experience preferred. Food manufacturing experience considered a strong asset. Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions. Comfortable working in hot, cold, high paced and/or noisy environments. Ability to lift materials (up to 50 lbs), work at heights, and operate tools safely.
