Realty Officer and Realty Advisor Parks Canada Alberta (Jasper) Parks Canada Jasper, AB $74,023$87,376 a year Parttime Reference number: CAP25J-143696-000020 Location: Jasper National Park of Canada (Alberta) About the Position The Realty and Municipal Services team of Jasper National Park is responsible for the land administration of over 1500 leasehold properties in Jasper, Alberta. Responsibilities differ by phone level: PM03 Realty Officer and PM04 Realty Advisor. Roles & Responsibilities - PM03 Realty Officer: Delivers realty program services and provides advice for the use, occupancy, and administration of Parks Canada Agency land and buildings in Jasper National Park. Key duties include: - Reviewing legal documents related to sales, mortgages, subleases, and tenant agreements. - Engaging with residents, law offices, and realtors. - Commissioning statutory declarations. - Drafting leases, forms, letters, and other documents for signatures. - Managing records in the national land registration system. - Conducting file audits and researching realty inquiries. - PM04 Realty Advisor: Coordinates and delivers realty program services, provides technical advice and guidance. Key duties include: - Preparing land agreements such as leases and licences of occupation. - Conducting file audits to recommend land use strategies. - Drafting formal documents such as approval forms and briefing notes. - Supporting and reviewing the work of Realty Officers. - Collaborating with other field units on realty projects. - Negotiating lease agreements and reviewing residency files. Qualifications - Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent; a recognized university or college diploma in legal studies, law, public administration, or land use planning is an asset. - Experience (PM03/PM04): Strong written communication, stakeholder engagement, document management, data input, report generation, audits, and research. - Experience (PM04 only): Drafting legal or policy documents and conducting legislative research. - Knowledge: Canadian National Parks Act, lease and occupation regulations, and realty terminology. - Abilities: Effective oral and written communication; preparing concise briefing materials; conflict resolution; analytical recommendation on land use. - Personal Suitability: Proactive, peopleoriented, sound judgment, attention to detail, integrity.
