EXPERIENCE: All LPNs must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in conducting patient assessment and direct nursing care of a broad range of diseases for both adult and child population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting. This must be included/exampled in your resume. Responsibilities Provide primary health care and emergency health care services to Cadets and Cadet Instructor Cadre on a walk-in and appointment basis at Cadet Training Centre Clinics. Emergency health care will be provided until care is provided by or through an external civilian health care facility. Patient care includes services to patients on a walk-in and appointment basis. HCP must be available for 8- or 12-hour shifts as per clinic schedule. Perform within defined scope of practice in accordance with the regulatory organization in the province of work. Perform triage assessment during walk-in hours and patient assessments including medical or incident history, physical examinations. Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensuring infection control, and conducting specimen collection. Develop a nursing care plan based on assessment results and refer to a physician or other health care provider. Administer medication as per doctors order as per provincial scope of practice and observe and document therapeutic effects. Complete nursing documentation immediately after each patient interaction. Communicate changes or abnormal findings of the patients status or condition to the senior; interpret abnormal as deviation from norm. Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections and wound care. Administer and monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Monitor patient progress and evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions. Provide health education to patients. Perform administrative tasks including responses to patient queries, preparation of medical files for physicians or other health care providers, and returning medical files to health record department. Assist physicians or other health care providers with treatments and procedures. Act as the point of contact for care coordination and preparation of responses, information requests, and patient inquiries in the specialty clinic. Monitor all medical supplies and inventory including ordering and replenishing. Clean all patient care areas between patients; clean, sterilize and package surgical instruments. Other associated tasks relevant to this occupation. Additionally Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company''s Quality Management System. Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. Responsible for completing Accident Reports for all direct reports who injure themselves on the job, within 24 hours of the incident. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information. Must successfully complete the Police Records Check (PRC)/Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) process. This document is mandatory and necessary as you will be working with youth.
