SJK has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Associate Director, International Student Recruitment to join our team! About St. Johns-Kilmarnock School (SJK) SJK is the leading coeducational independent school in the Waterloo Region of Ontario. The School, founded in 1972, is located on a beautiful 36acre natural campus, offering enriched educational programming for day students from JKGrade 12 and international boarding students from Grades 912 through our accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. The Schools coed Boarding Residence is located in close proximity to the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. Position Summary: The Associate Director, International Student Recruitment, leads the planning and execution of SJKs international student recruitment and retention strategy. This specialist role focuses on building and maintaining the Schools international student population, supporting boarding enrolment in Grades 912, and enhancing SJKs profile as a leading independent IB World Continuum School in Canada. Specific Accountabilities: - Lead SJKs international student recruitment with a primary focus on boarding enrolment in Grades 912 by setting annual targets, priority markets, and ethical recruitment practices aligned with CAIS principles, ensuring sustainable growth and a diverse boarding community. - Develop and execute international recruitment and diversification strategies by applying enrolment data, market analysis, and institutional priorities to support recruitment of students committed to academic, personal growth, and international mindedness to ensure longterm financial sustainability. - Build and manage relationships with international agents and partners through clear agreements, regular training, and performance monitoring processes to ensure responsible thirdparty engagement and accurate representation of the schools mission, program, and outcomes. - Provide admissions consultation and guidance to prospective students and families using structured advising protocols, transparent admissions criteria, and timely communication to support informed decisionmaking and ensure alignment with IB learner profile attributes and school values. - Coordinate applicant assessment and interview processes for international and domestic boarding candidates by collaborating with admissions, academic, and boarding leadership to ensure consistent, fair, and rigorous evaluation practices that measure student academic, and social readiness to thrive in an IB continuum school. - Explore and develops international and domestic boarding recruitment pathways by identifying feeder schools, community partnerships, and access initiatives that align with the schools commitment to inclusion and accessibility while strengthening longterm program and financial sustainability. - Represent the school at international recruitment fairs, school visits, and virtual events by delivering consistent, missionaligned messaging and culturally responsive engagement, reinforcing IB values of internationalmindedness and SJK expectations for professional conduct and brand stewardship. - Leverage digital platforms and social media channels to conduct targeted recruitment campaigns while monitoring inquiry, application, and yield metrics to inform continuous improvement. - Apply demographic data and market intelligence to set annual market priorities to create an enrolment plan that promotes diversity and minimizes risks of shifting geopolitical circumstances. - Codevelop and maintain international and domestic interview and assessment frameworks, including virtual assessment protocols, to ensure equitable access, consistency across markets, and alignment with IB approaches to learning, learner profile expectations, and ethical admissions practice. - Collaborate with Advancement and Alumni Relations to engage international alumni as ambassadors through events, referrals, and storytelling initiatives that promote community engagement and strengthen authentic, missiondriven recruitment pathways. - Codevelop and colead the international and domestic onboarding processes for new boarding students to build a strong boarding community identity. - Collaborate with the Director of Boarding to support the academic and social emotional wellbeing, and integration of boarding students into the full life of the School. Qualifications and Experience: - Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience - Marketing and communication training preferred - 35 years experience in international student recruitment and enrolment management at the secondary or postsecondary school level. - Understanding of global education markets and student mobility trends - Expertise in data survey, analysis and reporting - Demonstrated strategic planning and execution skills - Strong written and oral communication skills - Language proficiency in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese is an asset - Strong relationshipbuilding skills - Cultural competence and ability to engage diverse communities - Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the School and the International Baccalaureate program Workplace Requirements and Conditions: - Onsite role requiring domestic and international travel - Evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods To Apply: Interested and qualified candidates are invited to forward by email a letter of application and a rsum to https://tealandco.com/careers by March 1st, 2026. The salary range is based on our current salary grid and ranges from $75,000.00 to $95,000.00, with placement on the grid determined by qualifications and years of eligible and related experience. These amounts are based on our current year grid, which may increase for the 20262027 academic year.
