Position Details Work arrangement: On-campus, part-time student contract Reports To: Manager, Student Life Reason for vacancy: Existing part-time student vacancy Expected hiring salary range: $17.60 per hour This is a part-time, term contract student position is open and reserved for current UNF students only. Primary Purpose Under the direction of the Student Success Office, Student Ambassadors work as official representatives of the university and play a pivotal role in supporting UNF students. Student Ambassadors are leaders and role models on campus who introduce student life and represent the university as a positive, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment. Specific Responsibilities Student Success Administration Provide frontline support at the Student Success Hub Front Desk, including wayfinding, triaging questions, and referrals. Interact with staff, faculty, students, and community members to ensure a positive and supportive experience. Answer inquiries both inperson at the Student Success Hub Front Desk and online via the UNF Student Ambassador live chat. Continuously collect and record data (i.e. contact logs) while maintaining confidentiality. Distribute Student Success Office materials, such as event posters and brochures. Stock the coffee station in the Lake Ontario Lounge. Campus Tours Conduct campus tours to visiting students and community members upon request. Event Support Occasionally assist with oncampus UNF events. Administration & Other Collaborate closely with Student Success Office colleagues to provide integrated student services and resources. Be available for some evening and weekend work. Perform other tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall success of UNF. Position Requirements Opportunity Requirements Enrolled as a student within the University of Niagara Falls Canada during the entire duration of the contract. Preferred that at start date, student has completed one term. Student is not currently or approaching a capstone project or an internship as part of their program of study. Must be available for the full during of the part-time contract. Student has not exceeded the maximum of a six (6)-month term in any one department, coupled with a minimum of a three (3) month break in employment from UNF Preference for cumulative average of 70%. Must be available for a minimum of 1 shift per week. Must be available for evening and weekend work, as scheduled. Experience in a customer service role is required. Experience in student services is considered an asset. Competencies Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
