$30 $48/hr part-time JOB SUMMARY TheSpecialty Pharma Nurse, Clinical TrialsRegistered Nurse(CTRN) reports directly to theSpecialty PharmaNurseSupervisor(SPNS)and/or Specialty PharmaNurseManager(SPNM). In this role, the CTRN works in close collaboration with the Scientific Affairs (SCA) teamtodeliver andmonitorspecialized infusion,injectableor oralpharmacological treatments, investigational medicinal productsin the homeand/or clinic setting. The CTRN administers protocol-specific nursing care to participants in home, clinic, or community settings within decentralized or hybrid trials. This position upholds patient care standards, ensures strict protocol and regulatory compliance, and serves as the primary liaison for the sponsor and study team in the participants environment. TheCTRNis responsible formonitoringthepatientforclinical trial studyrelated reactions (intervening asrequiredor directed by protocol), accurately documenting the procedureon electronicchartsor clinical trial source documentation andsubmittingreportingin a timely manner. TheCTRNis expected tomaintaineffective communication with theSPNSand/orSPNMalong with the Scientific Affairs Teamto ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Specialized pharmacologicalor clinical trialtraining will be provided. Ensure compliance withGood Clinical Practice (GCP),International Counsel of Harmonization (ICH)guidelines,Standard Operation Procedure (SOPs,)and local regulatory requirements Develop and review nursing care plans that are individualized to eachpatient; Conducts patient health assessments and medication administrationteaching; Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy includingvenipunctureacross diverse patientpopulations; Perform lab sample processing, packaging, centrifugeoperationand shipmentin accordance withprotocol,dangerousgoodsandsponsorrequirements; Coordination and management of courier services forbiological sample collection, study medication deliveries, and study suppliesin accordance withprotocolsand temperaturerequirements; Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.)from patients of allages; Prepares and administers a variety of specializedor investigational medicinal productintravenousor injectable pharmacological treatmentsfrom patientsof all ages, perprotocol; Conductsother protocol assessmentsincludingbut not limited toECGs, Spirometry, limited physical assessments, electronic patient reported outcomes (EPROs); Provide patient care byutilizingthe skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and reporting any adverse events to immediate supervisor or requiredstakeholders; Perform routine nursing dutiesin accordance withcompany policies and procedures, and provincial bodystandards; Ensureaccurate,timelyand protocol-compliant documentation to support data integrity and contractualobligations; Provide patient centered care according to the established care plan or medicaldirective; Perform specialized nursing procedures for which recognized training and current competencieshave beendemonstratedandupdated perstandards; Maintainrolerelatedtrainingand updatesasrequired; Observe and documentpatientconditions; Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilancerequirements; Complete all other duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS Education Graduated from an accredited nursing education program with a Bachelors of Sciencein Nursing (BSN) degree orequivalent; Current registration and in good standing with provincial nursing regulatorybody; Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)certification; Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification isanasset; Current PALScertificationis anasset; Knowledge or certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Dangerous Goods Transportation,Division 5 Health Canada Regulationsis an asset. ** If the required qualifications are notpossessedby the successfulcandidate;the candidatewillbe requiredto obtaincertification necessary for the location of their work.Training for the certificationwillbe completed on thesuccessful candidates own time. ** Experience Minimum 23 years of clinical nursingexperience; Experience in acute care and/or with administering specialtypharmaceuticals; Experience with patientpopulationof all ages, includingpediatricsis anasset; Experience with home careand/or clinical researchis anasset; Critical care (e.g., ER or ICU)is anasset; Exceptional peripheral IV initiationand phlebotomyskills; Experience with central lines (IVAD, PICC, etc.) isrequired; Demonstrated experience with crisis management, adaptability, escalation procedures and independent clinical decision making in high-acuity or unpredictable environments.
